Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition new DLC now available on Microsoft Store, Steam for pre-order

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is getting a new downloadable content (DLC) update called Knights of the Mediterranean. The game’s developers announced that the new DLC will add two new civilizations, 30 new random maps, nine new minor civilizations, and two game modes. New Additions to the DLC

Developers of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition have announced The Knights of the Mediterranean DLC updated and introduced several new additions to the existing game, such as new civilizations, maps, and game modes.

Two new additional game modes with DLC are Diplomacy and Tycoon. Diplomacy allows players to switch allegiance in the middle of a match and lets them interact with other players. On the other hand, Tycoon focuses on building economies. In Tycoon, the player will not need to maintain an army or defend against a full-scale siege.

The new DLC will offer two new civilizations to compete with, the Italians and the Maltese.

As with Italian civilization, players will find a free settler with every technology, and economic buildings can research them at any age. In addition, there are two new buildings, the Basilica (I, 200w 200c) and the Lombard (I, 100w 100c).

On the other hand, the Maltese civilization begins with a Grand Master. Units of this civilization receive additional hit-points with each shipment and recover health overtime when inactive. There are four unique buildings on offer, Hospital (II, 100W), Commandery (II, 250W 100C), Depot (II, 50W 50C), and Fixed Gun (III, 100W 600C).

Along with the new civilizations, players will also find eight new historical maps, The Italian Wars, Eighty Years War, The Deluge, Great Turkish War, Great Northern War, Napoleonic Wars, Russo-Turkish Wars and The Thirty Years War. There is a multiplayer only map.

There are also nine new European Royal Houses, the House of Bourbon, the House of Wittelsbach, the House of Oldenburg, the House of Hanover, the House of Phanner, the House of Jagiellon, the House of Vasa, the House of Habsburg and the House of Wettin.
