Apple: Apple Music subscription price hiked for students in India and other countries

Apple raised the price of Apple Music subscription to students India and some other countries. After the price hike, the Apple Music student subscription costs Rs 59 per month. Earlier, the cost of Apple Music subscription for students was Rs 49 per month. The company is reportedly notifying students who have subscribed to Apple Music via email.
The price has also been updated on the official website and on the Apple Music app, which shows the subscription fee as Rs 59 per month, which represents an increase of around 20 per cent in the price.
The price hike isn’t limited to India, as Macromers notes, membership fees for students have been increased in other countries as well. There are some areas where membership fees for Apple Music student memberships have been increased Australiaindonesia, IsraelKenya, Malaysia, New ZealandSaudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa and the Philippines.
A student on Twitter shared a snippet of a mail from Apple explaining the recent price changes for Apple Music subscriptions. The email reads, “Thank you for subscribing to Apple Music. We want to let you know about any upcoming changes to this subscription,” reads an email from Apple to student customers of ‌Apple Music‌. Apple is increasing the price of this subscription from $1.49 per month to $1.99 per month.”
Note that users need to have a valid student ID or email address to avail the student membership price of Rs 59 per month. Or users can go ahead with the Personal plan, which still costs Rs 99 per month. Meanwhile, users can opt for the family plan for Rs 149 and can add up to six people to the plan.
