At WWDC 2022, Apple shared some screenshots and the app looks similar to its iPhone version. The background reflects the weather and you will also get a big dashboard with all the details.
The company claims that the new Weather app takes full advantage of the great iPad display.
With just one tap, users can view the most important weather information, or explore maps to check rainfall, air quality and temperature. Additionally, users can also be notified when a severe weather warning is issued in their area, or check air quality using a color-coded scale.
The brand new iPadOS 16 brings a completely new multitasking experience with Stage Manager and full external display support. The new version of the OS also offers new ways to collaborate through Messages and brings major updates to Mail and Safari.
Apple revealed that the developer preview of iPadOS 16 is available to members of the Apple Developer Program and the public beta will be available to iPadOS users next month at beta.apple.com. The new software features will be available this fall as a free software update for the iPad (5th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), and all iPad Pro models .
