Apple rolls out new software update for AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max

Here’s how you can check if your AirPods device has received the update

  1. Connect your AirPods earbuds/AirPods Max to Apple iPhone.
  2. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  3. Here, tap on General, then About.
  4. Now, tap on AirPods and look for the “Firmware Version” number.

If the version is 4E71, your AirPods device gets updated to the latest firmware. If not, you can try putting the AirPods in the case and connecting it to a power source. This update should apply to your AirPods.
Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based company is reportedly working on a successor to AirPods Pro. According to multiple reports, the second generation AirPods Pro could be launched in the second half of 2022. According to known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the AirPods Pro 2 will come with a “quite advanced” chip. According to an earlier Bloomberg report, the AirPods Pro 2 will feature onboard health sensors for the first time, and may not have a stem at all, made possible with a radical chassis redesign.
