Apple kicked in WWDC 2022 – Its annual developer conference with several announcements for all its major operating systems. For iPhone users, Apple provided a glimpse of what to expect with iOS 16.
iOS 16: Key Features
iOS 16 brings a brand new lock screen. Apple calls this the “biggest” update to the lock screen. For the first time ever, the font style of the Apple Watch can be changed on the iPhone. Users can personalize it according to how they want to see it. Users will also be able to add widgets to the lock screen. Be it calendar or fitness tracking, users can add widgets. iOS 16 will bring up the roll up notification from the bottom. A new feature called Live Activity on Lock Screen.
Along with the lock screen, the focus mode also gets new updates. Users will have the option to choose the lock screen according to the focus mode.
iMessage: iPhone users will have the option to edit iMessages. Apple is also bringing the undo message feature to iMessage. In addition, users will get the option to mark an iMessage thread as unread.
Family Sharing: iOS 16 will make it easier for parents to set up new devices for their kids with parental controls
iCloud Shared Photo Library: iPhone users will get the facility to create a new shared photo library on iCloud with their family members. Users can add up to 5 members to a shared library
Privacy: Security Checkup is the latest feature, which will allow users to restrict access to location and certain other information.
Home App: iOS 16 brings a change to the Home app. New categories have been added for climate, lighting, security and more. The app gets a new interface and looks as well
