Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: 2 Post-Credits Scenes, Explained

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness — now playing in theaters around the world — ends with the expected words “Doctor Strange will be back.” But it doesn’t just promise a third film, the post-credits scene also teases the next adventure, as is the case with every Marvel movie. There is only one meaningful scene in the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness credits, as the second scene is a continuation of an earlier gag in the film. Of course, I say worthwhile with the caveat, the first sequel completely ignores what was established in the post-credits scene of the first Doctor Strange movie. Basically, we need to start putting less stock in Marvel credit teasers than who really knows what’s going to happen in the years between when the next movie comes out.

Doctor Strange 2 Review: The Multiverse of Madness Is Too Much and Too Little

Clay (Theron) tells Strange that his actions have caused an incursion – this happens when the two universes collide (mostly) leading to their mutual destruction, as Reed Richards (John Krasinski) earlier in the film telling. Klee requests his help to stop the said intrusion, asking him if he is scared. “At least not,” responds strangely, as he reveals his third eye—Agamoto’s all-seeing eye—which he discovered at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

From the portal still open behind Klee, we can tell that she came from the Dark Dimension. If memory serves you well, you’ll remember that Strange fought the villain of Dormammu – first doctor strange movie – In the Dark Dimension. Klee is related to Doramamu – she’s actually his niece in Marvel Comics. She is also Strange’s lover, ultimate wife, and ultimate sorceress. It will be interesting to see what the MCU retains, as movies have a history of changing characters and story.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness post-credits scene

What is the second and final scene that drops after the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness credits? Spider-Man: Homecoming Done with Captain America (Chris Evans). While Cap talks about the value of patience, the new Doctor Strange film chooses to make audiences laugh, mocking them for staying until the end.

We’re reunited with Pizza Poppa (Bruce Campbell, director Sam Raimi’s favorite), the man who paid dearly for Pizza Puff to demand the money owed him, which America Chavez (Xochital Gómez) calls his own. Was picked up from the car. Pizza Poppa has been punching herself ever since, as commanded by Strange through magic.

But it looks like the three-week sentence is over, as Poppa’s hands suddenly stop working of her own free will. Relaxed Pizza Poppa nods happily and says, “It’s over!”, half-looking into the camera. As you can tell, he’s not only talking about his pain, but he’s also breaking the fourth wall.
