US-based online e-commerce giant eBay has forayed into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with the issuance of its first collection on the ‘OneOff’ NFT platform. This is eBay’s first foray into the world of digital collectibles. Its first NFT collection is based on the game and the price range of its pieces ranges from $10 (approximately Rs 775) to $1,500 (approximately Rs 1.15 lakh). NFTs are seeing a major draw from Web3 supporters. Inspired by game characters, avatars, and art, among other things, NFTs form an integral part of the virtual asset category as well as the Web3-supported metaverse field.
‘Origin’ is the name of eBay nft collection, It features a 3D and animated representation of Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. NFT versions of other sports players, which have graced the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine over the years, are also listed for sale.

“NFTs and blockchain technology are revolutionizing the collectibles space, and are increasingly viewed as investment opportunities for enthusiasts,” said Don Block, VP Collectibles, Electronics & Home at eBay.
