Maria Bakalova, who gained recognition for her performance in Borat’s post-movie film, is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Bakalova received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Borat sequel. Now, director James Gunn has revealed his involvement with the next Guardians of the Galaxy adventure. Until now, Gunn and Marvel have kept Bakalova’s character a secret. Gunn previously teased an ‘undeclared actor’ when producing for Vol. 3 wrapped up on 7 May. It is believed that Bakalova is not that actor.
Recently, Daniela Melchior suicide squad fame was Confirmed To be part of Vol. 3 in a small role. Gunn has also teased the inclusion of an “undeclared actor” who was previously rumored to be Keanu Reeves.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) more Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) – the first two entries – have earned over $1.6 billion (approximately Rs 12,400 crore) at the worldwide box office. The threequel Guns is set to be the final entry in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. It sees the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and Sylvester Stallone. Bautista has announced that this will be his last visit as Drax.
As mentioned earlier, Bakalova received many accolades for her performance in Borat’s subsequent movie. Her other upcoming projects include A24’s Bodies Bodies and The Honeymoon, which she is also producing.
