Lexar on Thursday launched the NM760 NVMe SSD (Solid-State Drive) in India. The new SSD is aimed at gamers and moviegoers and according to the company is designed to offer higher speed data transfer and better performance. The new Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD offers read speeds of up to 5.3GBps and 4.5GBps. The company’s latest NVMe SSD comes with support for PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe systems as well as backwards compatibility for PCIe Gen3 systems. According to Lexar, it comes with an optional heatsink to keep the performance going while keeping the SSD cool.
Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD price in India, availability
The Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD is available in 512GB and 1TB storage options. The 512GB Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD model is priced at Rs. Rupee. 10,000. The price of the 1TB storage variant is yet to be disclosed by the company. The Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD will be available for purchase in June. It is yet to be listed on the Lexar Store on amazon, According to the company, the hard drive comes with a five-year warranty.
Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD Specifications
The recently launched Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD is claimed to deliver peak read speeds of 5.3GBps and write speeds of up to 4.5GBps, according to the company. The M.2 2280 NVMe SSD is claimed to deliver 9.6 times faster performance than a SATA based SSD. It is compatible with laptops and PCs as well as PlayStation 5 gaming consoles. The drive is developed with a 12nm controller, which according to Lexar provides lower power consumption than the 28nm process used on older models.
The company says the Lexar NM760 NVMe SSD uses PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe 1.4 technology for faster transfers, but is backwards compatible with PCIe Gen3 systems. This means gamers and creators on older systems will still be able to use the slow drive. According to Lexar, it comes with an optional heatsink to keep the SSD cool with consistent performance. According to the company, users can also download SSD Dash software from the company’s website to monitor the health status of their drives, update firmware, and securely erase data.
