Microsoft: Why Microsoft wants to be careful when hiring people for these roles

Microsoft Reportedly being conservative about getting hired in certain roles. According to a Bloomberg report, the company plans to slow hiring in its Windows and Office along with divisions teams Chat and conferencing software group. The report quotes a mail sent by Rajesh JhaExecutive Vice President, office product group, The memo reportedly states that all new work done in these businesses must be approved by Jha and his leadership team.
A Microsoft spokesperson reportedly said that these groups have recently expanded and the company wants to make sure it’s doing the right things in the right places. “As Microsoft gears up for the new fiscal year, it is ensuring that the right resources are tied to the right opportunities,” the company said in a statement. “Microsoft will continue to grow headcount over the coming year and it will put additional focus on those resources where they go,” the statement further said.
These guidelines are not across the company and overall Microsoft plans to keep hiring at its set pace. Microsoft’s new fiscal year begins on July 1. The company is holding its annual developers conference, Build 2022.
