WABetaInfo has reported that WhatsApp has started supporting a new iOS 15 API that will let users know when to miss incoming WhatsApp calls due to the Do Not Disturb service. Simply put, WhatsApp on iOS can now detect whether the DND service is enabled or not and can also notify users.
According to the report, this feature is currently being rolled out in TestFlight for iOS 15. Those running the beta version of WhatsApp on iOS 15 will see a new label under the missed calls section – ‘Silent by Do No Disturb’.
The new addition to WhatsApp will let users know the exact reason if they have missed an incoming WhatsApp call due to notification being turned off by the device’s DND service.
It is also important to note that this will not be reported to the caller as the information is limited to the receiver’s device only.
For now, this feature is only available on whatsapp beta Running on iOS 15. Currently, there is no information on whether the company is planning to expand this feature to other platforms. Android and desktop.
