Apple unveiled watchOS 9 Many new features are coming for Apple Watch users. At WWDC 2022, Apple demonstrated health, fitness, and medicine features for iPhone users.
New watchOS 9 Features
watchOS 9 will have the feature that tracks Afib history on the Apple Watch. Users will be able to share Afib history with their doctors through PDF. Apple hasn’t received FDA approval for it, but said it expected to get it soon.
Medicines: Apple Watch users with the Medications app will be able to manage the medicines they take. Users can get notifications and reminders about the medicines they take. In addition, users can use the iPhone camera to scan the medicine and store it according to the app. If a significant interaction occurs – drinking alcohol after a drug – users will receive a notification about whether they should take the drug.
The Apple Watch’s massively popular Activity app — Three Rings — will also come in a toned-down version for iPhone users. Users who have an iPhone but don’t have an Apple Watch will be able to use the Activity app with the help of motion sensors on the iPhone.
In addition, Apple has added four new watch faces: Lunar, Astronomy, Play Time, Metropolitan. With watchOS 9, Apple Watch will also get a new Siri UI and notifications. The Podcasts app on the Apple Watch is also getting a makeover with watchOS 9.
